A screenshot works until the quote changes, the page switches to dark mode, or someone opens it on a small phone. Then you are back in an image editor, cropping the same review again.
Platform embeds solve the update problem, but they bring their own layout and branding. Put reviews from several sources on one page and the result rarely feels like one product.
Proofi starts with a simpler idea: a testimonial is content.
Store the quote, not the screenshot
A testimonial in Proofi has a quote, a reviewer name, and an optional role or company. It can also include a rating, avatar, and display date. Keeping those fields separate makes the content readable by browsers and flexible enough for different layouts.
It also makes corrections easy. Fix a typo once in the dashboard and every widget using that project gets the corrected text.
Separate content from presentation
The project owns the testimonials. A widget decides how to show them.
That distinction matters. The same set of quotes can appear as a compact rating badge near a checkout button and as a larger grid on a customer page. You do not need duplicate copies of the content to do it.
Proofi currently supports carousel, grid, list, bento, spotlight, marquee, minimal, and badge layouts. Each one uses the same testimonial data. The differences are presentation and space.
Curation stays deliberate
Automatic imports are on the roadmap. Imported reviews will still need a review step before they appear publicly. A feed should save typing, not take control of the homepage.
For now, testimonials are entered and managed directly in Proofi. That is less magical than promising an integration with every review site. It is also predictable. You know which quotes are live, how they are displayed, and where an edit will show up.
